What Is Christmas All About?Намуна
The Final Point
This Bible Plan started with a question, and it will end with the same question: When you hear the word “Christmas,” what do you think about?
Is your answer today any different from the first day? This Bible Plan has taught you the basics of what is celebrated at Christmas. It celebrates the birth of Jesus. It reminds everyone about the suffering His family endured even on the very day He was born. And Christmas celebrates that God chose to announce the arrival of His Son to ordinary shepherds.
But, most of all, Christmas is about God’s great love for people. Remember, God is with you, even when the nights are long. This video will remind you of what’s so important about the main verse of this entire Bible Plan, John 3:16. Yes, it’s worth reading and learning from again!
God didn’t want to be without us. He wanted to show us how much He loves us. The Creator of the Universe—the huge, enormous, impossible-to-fully-describe God—wants to be friends with you. He did what it took (sending Jesus to take your punishment) to make things right so that He could fix your chance at a friendship with Him. Amazing! Merry Christmas!
Note: Today’s video used the NLT version of the Bible, in case you want to do today’s reading in the same translation.
Ask yourself: What is most amazing to me about the way God sent Jesus to Earth to die for all people—including me?
Challenge yourself: Talk to someone you know about how it makes you feel when you think about everything God did for people—especially how it makes you feel when you think about how He loves you enough that if you were the only human on Earth, He still would’ve sent Jesus to die just for you.
Pray: God, thank You for sending Jesus to die for me. Thank You that this Christmas season is a time of year when people everywhere stop to remember the greatest miracle of all time: You became one of us! Help me to keep the joy that comes from living like Jesus alive and active in my life every day. Help me to spread Your love to everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name, amen.
