Joy to the World

DAY 4 OF 5

Jesus Came So the World Could Know God

(It would be beneficial to read the Scriptures before beginning each day.)

Today’s story moves on to when Jesus was still a child. We find Him already setting a precedent in following God with all that we have. He knows that He needs God even from an early age, and He can’t wait to be in His Father’s house.

We hope that you are able to regularly come to church as well. It definitely looks different than it did in Jesus’ day, but we still look to present the most important message about God, our sin, and His plan for a relationship with Him. We call it the Gospel message. We can explain it like this:

There is a God, and He is completely and totally good. Unfortunately, there is a problem and the problem is sin and the fact that we chose things that are sinful. That sin separates us from a God who loves us and wants what's best for us. The good news is that there is a solution to this problem, and His name is Jesus! He came, lived a perfect life, died as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose again, proving He is who He says He is and that we can trust in Him. Our response is the surrender of our lives, to live it in such a way that we bring glory to God and try to be more like Jesus.

Even from an early age Jesus knew the importance of a relationship with God. We hope you can pursue that too, and we want to do what we can to encourage it! Consider the following questions to help take steps closer to Jesus:

How would you define sin?

What does it mean that Jesus is our hope?

What does it mean to surrender our lives to Him?

Are you regularly attending a church?

About this Plan

Joy to the World

Imagine having the best news ever, and only talking about it once a year! We can’t do that when we have a message that can bring joy to the whole world! Let’s take the “Christmas” story, and remember that it is good news for all people at all times of the year.
