YOUR KINGDOM COME
What is it all for?
His presence and power give us individual gain through gifting, empowerment, and transformation. However, and more importantly, His presence and power are for building the Church, equipping the Saints, and ultimately doing the work of the Father. The Lord’s Prayer is exactly this, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done.” It is not our will but God’s will that we seek. His Word says we are to go into the world and make disciples. We have been given great authority and commissioned to walk in continuous relational power into this hurting world.
We live under an open heaven where His presence is readily available. Jesus’ kingdom parables in Matthew 13 encourage us to be risk takers, dream big, and step out in faith. In John 14, Jesus tells us whoever believes will do greater works than Him through the Holy Spirit! We should live as those who hunger and thirst for more of Him, not just in us but through us. We must see His power through mighty acts, truth, and compassion for this world. We are to bring His kingdom to Earth. To walk out in boldness and power.
John 16:13-14 says,
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
The disciples prepared their hearts, guided by the Holy Spirit to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit’s power. Their generosity of spirit prepared them to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit, “a great power,” to be a witness to the world. The Bible tells us we are a light to the world, light not to be hidden but to shine His love, never for our glory but always for His glory!
Today, as we end this devotional together, let’s commit afresh to put aside our agendas and to seek His Kingdom come, and His will be done. Let us make it our normal habit to ask the Holy Spirit what we can partner with Him today.
