The Good Life

DAY 9 OF 20

You’re probably familiar with the story: More than 5,000 hungry people came to hear Jesus talk, and Jesus asked the disciples to find food. The disciples could only come up with a little boy’s food of two fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus took the two fish and five loaves, blessed them, and He and the disciples distributed it. And the food kept coming and coming and coming and coming. Jesus made half a year’s wages worth of food in minutes. Can you imagine what the little boy or the disciples were thinking as they watched the food grow and grow and grow? And that’s what giving in God’s name does. Not only does God multiply what we give, but God uses it to change us. When we give and see how God uses what we’ve given, it’s like we gain more clarity regarding God’s vision and purpose. “Oh, these possessions that God has given me are just that, possessions God has given me. They are things He can use. If I hold them with an open hand, there’s no telling what He can do with them!” All God needs is a willing heart and an open hand, and He will use whatever we give Him to do great things. And we get to watch and be a part of the bigger story. What an honor.

Let's take a deeper look at the treasures God intends for us, the things that will satisfy the desires of our hearts. The things God wants to give us so we can truly live the good life.
