How to Find Your DestinyНамуна
The Voice of God
When Ruth left Moab for Bethlehem, I'm pretty sure she didn't have all the answers. She didn't know if she would acclimate to her new home, and she wasn't privy to seeing the big picture or how the story would end.
Ruth's story is so good because it teaches us that the solution to finding our destiny is not in having all the answers. Instead, the solution is knowing our most Holy God who is the Answer - and He chooses to reveal Himself as the Answer in His Word.
So, today, we will take the first practical step in getting to know His voice by meditating on His words. As you read each verse aloud, take your time. Write them down. Re-read them if you have to. Commit to memory the ones that deeply resonate. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart today. Pray to the Lord for a revelation of His plans for your life and the courage of Ruth – that you would be obedient to step out by faith when and wherever He calls.
Speak, Lord!
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV)
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
"And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left." (Isaiah 30:21 ESV)
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9 NIV)
Prayer:
Abba Father, You are so good. Help me to trust in You fully, wherever You lead me. Help my ears to be so attuned to Your voice behind me saying, "This is the way; walk in it." God, I want to walk into Your good plans and on Your straight paths. You are my God, upholding me with Your righteous right hand, so I will not fear, but I will go forward by faith. In Jesus' name, I pray, with thanksgiving, Amen.
About this Plan
Have you ever asked yourself, "What is my purpose in life?" My guess is that you have. Over the next seven days, we will journey through the story of a girl who pushed past the voices of emotion, reason, and the masses to pursue God's plans for her life. My hope is that her story will encourage you as you seek out yours.
