Love God Greatly: God With Us

DAY 10 OF 26

SOAP – Phil 2:5-7
Jesus Christ emptied Himself of the outward glory and majesty of Godhood and took the form of a servant. The greatest veil of all is the human flesh of Jesus Christ. When men viewed Him, our King looked like peasantry. The extraordinary looked ordinary. He emptied and stripped Himself of His majesty. He gave up the external glories of His riches. Jesus was the best example of a leader, as He chose to come to serve His people. Every believer who wishes to represent Jesus Christ must choose servant-hood.

Where is God urging you to serve Him? If you aren’t serving God in your community, your church, or your ministry, what is holding you back? Jesus shows us that the true definition of leading first begins by serving others.

Father God, I thank You for choosing servant-hood over majesty in order to reach Your people. Lord, give me a servant’s heart which places others’ needs before my own. Lord, when I strive for positions of leadership, glory, or power, remind me of Your example of humility and service. Show me, Lord, how to choose service over my vanity and selfishness so that those I serve may see You clearly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
