The Family of God

DAY 3 OF 5

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit was there in the beginning with our Heavenly Father and Jesus, creating the world. He has been with us our entire lives, knocking on the door of our hearts revealing God’s love for us, and exposing our worth, value, and the fact that we were created for so much more than we were previously living.

At salvation, when we surrender our hearts and lives to Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes and lives within us and empowers us to live our new lives according to the nature of God.

He is our Helper, Counselor, and Advocate to lead us into all Truth. The Holy Spirit also convicts the world of sin, dwells in believers of Jesus, and is our source of wisdom, revelation, and power. He guides us into all truth, including the knowledge of what is to come, and gives us spiritual gifts.

The Holy Spirit is the seal of redemption in the lives of believers, helps in times of weakness, and intercedes for us. He makes believers new and gives them eternal life. He sanctifies and enables believers to bear good fruit in their lives.

The Holy Spirit resides inside of us and dwells within us. You will also become immersed in the person of the Holy Spirit through the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This simply means an overflow of the Holy Spirit that brings boldness and activates and empowers our spirits to receive the truth of the Word of God and make it alive in our Spirit.

Questions:

  1. How do you view the Holy Spirit?
  2. What does your relationship with Him look like?
  3. Do you feel the boldness and empowerment that comes with the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Have you asked Him to baptize you?

About this Plan

The Family of God

Throughout this plan, we will establish what our relationship is with our Heavenly Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and our other brothers and sisters in Christ. We will also discuss how to approach those not yet in the family - those who have yet to be exposed to their worth and value in Christ.
