Listen to God’s Counsel
You’ve heard it said that pride comes before the fall. It’s true, isn’t it? People purposefully avoid the advice of friends and family because, honestly, the advice wouldn’t be what they wanted to hear. Can you relate to that? Has your pride ever stopped you from seeking counsel about an important decision?
Now imagine that the writer of Proverbs 15:22 is looking at the way you handle your finances. Would he see pride or openness to the counsel of others? Would he see that you’re taking your cues from Scripture or culture?
As important as it is to listen to people, it’s just as important to listen to what God says about money. We are blessed to be a blessing. The resources that we have are for the purpose of blessing others. It was God’s expectation for the Israelites, and it’s His expectation for the church.
So, if you let down your pride, how would God’s financial advice change the way you handle your money? How would it affect the people around you, your marriage, or your friendships? Are there any Christian people whose counsel you need to seek when it comes to your finances?

About this Plan
If we’re honest, some things we read in the Bible leave us shaking our heads. Is it really even possible to sincerely love people who are different from us? Can we really be content with what we have? How about prayer? Does God really hear us? During this study, we’re going to talk about how things that can seem so impossible to us are completely possible with God. Really!
