A Prayer LifeНамуна
Too busy to connect
A father and his young daughter were very close and always together. Then the father noticed that his daughter was starting to change, and their relationship time was becoming less and less.
When the father went out for a walk, the daughter would give her father an excuse why she could not go with him. The father was very sad and did not understand. When his birthday came, the daughter gave him a pair of very beautiful handmade sandals and said to her father, "I made them for you, Daddy." His daughter had been busy making sandals for her father.
Then the father understood what had happened during the last three months. He said, "Honey, I like these sandals, but next time, buy the sandals and let Dad be with you all those days. I'd rather be with you than anything you can do for me."
Some of us are too busy for God that He can't work in our lives. Then God will say to us, “I know your deeds, your hard work, and your perseverance, but I long for your first love.” (Revelation 2:2-4)
Reflection:
We often become so busy doing God's work that we neglect our relationship with Him. Do you believe that God is more concerned with our relationship with Him than what we do for Him? Spend the best time fellowship with God and get to know Him deeply.
No man can progress in grace if he forsakes prayer. (C. H. Spurgeon)
