The Kingdom of GodНамуна
The King’s Promise
Jesus our King has gifted us a great promise. He has said he will never leave us nor forsake us. He is with us until the end of the age, that is, this in-between age of the already/not yet.
He has also graciously given us the end of the story in the book of Revelation, where we see an uncountable multitude made up of all nations, tribes, tongues and peoples gathered and worshipping before the throne of God.
Revelation even shows the very end when all things are made new, and we will be dwelling with God face to face forevermore. These glimpses and our identity as God’s people share at least one of the same purposes, namely, that we would proclaim God’s excellencies.
We are saved, called out, entered into God’s family, filled with the Spirit and have the King of all authority with us throughout the rest of this age in order that we may glorify God and entreat others to join us in declaring his gloriousness. Jesus’ authority and accompaniment aid us in the task he has given us: “go…and make disciples of all nations even to the ends of the earth.”
I would be remiss to not beseech you to consider a life of sacrifice as a cross-cultural worker, one who would go to the ends of the earth preaching the good news of a great king. Will you consider giving your life so that others may hear and join in our family? Will you go and explain why the gospel of the kingdom of God is good news to the unreached ethnic groups on this planet?
Remember, they will hear, and some will respond! Christ’s blood was spilled to ransom people from every tribe, language, people and nation!
Here are some concluding questions from this devotional series:
·Are you still marveling at the excellencies of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?
·What are the consequences of not hoping for God’s Kingdom to be on earth as it is in heaven?
·In what ways can you live a life worthy of God’s calling upon you in righteousness, peace and joy?
·How should the role of ambassador change the way we live?
·How will you trust Christ’s promises and join him in the expansion of his Kingdom?
About this Plan
As believers, we have been transferred from a kingdom of darkness into the glorious kingdom of the Son of God. This devotion will explore the King of the kingdom, the nature of his kingdom, the requirements of entry into the kingdom, what it means to be a member of the kingdom and our privilege to beckon others to enter this kingdom.
