Persevere in the PresentНамуна
Right Beliefs Bring Right Actions
Human beings are fueled by their beliefs. Every action and choice stems from a belief system, or worldview. So, when we are not seeing ourselves produce good fruit, we must look inward to the heart and the beliefs we are holding close. Wrong beliefs bring wrong actions. Right beliefs bring right actions.
There was recently a viral video of a puppy on the news because of how weighed down he was by all his unkempt hair. It even prevented people from recognizing what kind of animal he was! Once the veterinarian cut off all his matted hair, the puppy had to relearn how to walk without all of its weight. This is a lot like our belief systems and how they affect our lives. We can be weighed down by wrong beliefs that turn into wrong actions. Then, we must relearn right beliefs and let them transform us from the inside out.
The world is constantly attempting to teach us wrong beliefs. We know that looking to Christ is our way to test those lies and find the truth. The Bible says that our walk of faith is like running a race. If we act through the lens of wrong belief, we are deterred and stray from the path to victory. To identify what wrong beliefs you may have, sit still and listen to God. The Word says that the Holy Spirit will reveal truth to us and set us on the straight path. He will fill you with the right belief and give you the perseverance to run the race.
Prayer: “Father, thank You for teaching us how to run the good race. Give us endurance. May Your Holy Spirit correct our beliefs, making them right so we may produce right actions and good fruit. We thank You for helping us to persevere through any struggle life throws our way. Thank you, because in You we have victory. In Jesus’ name, amen”
