Proverbs – Sayings Of SolomonНамуна
Wisdom in Friendships
God’s love is expressed through wisdom. His mercy is expressed through wisdom. Everything he does is expressed through wisdom. Our Father’s faithfulness is actually a matter of wisdom.
Consider how essential faithfulness is to God’s nature—he is the same yesterday, today, and forever! His steadfast faithfulness is what makes him the rock upon which we can build our lives.
Now apply that faithfulness to our human friendships. Envision that faithfulness in marriage and family. Imagine that faithfulness in government and business. What impact could the wisdom of faithfulness have in our world?
Proverbs 19 reveals much about earthly friendships, most notably their remarkable lack of faithfulness when hardship comes. We see the fruit of this all around us as people choose ease over the stability of deep roots.
As much as we all desire faithfulness from our friends, none of us have the power to make anyone be faithful to us. The only ones we are in charge of is ourselves, which means it is upon our shoulders to be steady, faithful, and unchanging, and to demonstrate the heart we also desire from our friends.
As we become intimate with our Father, we will encounter his faithfulness and be changed. As we are changed to become more faithful, our world around us will change too.
How has the heavenly Father been faithful to you? If you’ve been hurt by the unfaithfulness of others in the past, ask your Father to bring healing to your heart.
