Wisdom for Peacemaking

DAY 7 OF 7

I have great news for you. You are God’s workmanship. He built you. He wove you together in your mother’s womb. This workmanship didn’t stop at just physical conception when God first created you, but it also includes spiritual conception when the Holy Spirit came in, and you became a new creation. Physical conception is illustrated in Psalm 139:13–14. Jesus talks about spiritual conception in John 3:3–5. God made us—physically and spiritually. We are “created in Christ Jesus for good works.” That is an interesting statement. “Created in Christ Jesus.” Not merely created by Christ Jesus, not simply created for Christ Jesus, but created in Christ Jesus. Works do not save us. However, works are what we were made in Christ Jesus to do (2 Corinthians 5:17).

APPLICATION

What if, in your relationship, you embrace that God created you to do good works and so model the gospel to the other person? What would change in your words, attitudes, and behavior? You are of the Holy Spirit and not of the flesh. Respond as a child of God today. It will make a massive difference in the other person’s life and change the flavor of the relationship in your life.

Lord, let me take on the works you created me to do. (Continue praying.)
