Moments for Mums: Women of the Christmas Story - Part 1Намуна
In Luke 1:23–25, the angel Gabriel told Zechariah he was going to be a father in his old age. Zechariah asked for assurance, indicating he doubted the promise. For this, he was struck dumb until the birth of his son.
Six months later, the same angel visits Mary and tells her she is going to become pregnant. She does not question whether this will happen, but merely wonders how it will happen. She has wonderful, simple faith as she is chosen to be the mother of Jesus, the Son of God.
God is less interested in what we can already do in our own abilities, but in what he can do through our humble obedience to him.
When you doubt yourself and feel inadequate, that could be exactly what God needs to meet his purposes.
Question
How would you respond to something God asks you to do that seems impossible?
Prayer
Lord, I often feel I am failing at what I am trying to do. Help me to bring my inadequacy to you, so you can do what seems impossible.
