THE GIFT OF SALVATION 

I love getting a "free gift with purchase" when I buy something. I sometimes google "gift with purchase" to find stores that offer a gratuitous bonus. Who doesn't like to get free stuff? "Act quickly," the ads say, because "freebies," as I call them, are "available for a limited time only," "while supplies last," and "in select stores only." I fall for those marketing ploys every time and sheepishly admit that I sometimes keep the freebie for myself! 

I do, however, share the best free gift I've ever received. That is the gift of salvation, freely given by God's divine grace through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation is the deliverance from sin and prevents separation from God and eternal death. Believe it or not, many people reject this costly gift, and many don't even know about it. 

Salvation is a free gift from God to all believers in Christ Jesus. Although free to us, Jesus paid the costly price for it by dying on the cross, taking the world's sins upon Himself. 

We are all born slaves to sin in this world and owe a debt that we can't pay. Salvation is available to everyone, everywhere, all the time. It never runs out of stock. You can't buy it, and you can't earn it. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you receive the gift of salvation. You are no longer dead to sin but alive in Christ! The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you as a believer.
