God Paints A Picture Of Thankfulness
Maud Lewis’s story may have only been known to fans of folk art until the release of the cinematic depiction of her life, ‘Maudie’. Though she was a sought-after artist from the 1950s until her death in 1970, the most compelling aspects of her life could be how she lived in Nova Scotia. Due to severe rheumatoid arthritis, Maud found daily life challenging. Despite her eventual artistic success, she and her husband lived in a one-room cottage with no electricity or running water. Her story would force anyone to be thankful for the life we have been given.
In ancient times, and even in some cultures today, someone like Maud Lewis would have been considered to have no value due to her disability. Thankfully she was given a chance to prove that she did have something to offer the world.
We have a God who values every one of us. In Matthew 10, Jesus is saying that God does care about His creation, but more importantly He cares about each person on earth. Each man and woman has value to the point that God cares so much about humanity that He knows the number of hairs on each of our heads. Yet, the most significant expression of this love was proven in His provision of a means of spending eternity with Him.
This all means that, regardless of your life experience or situation, God values you. That’s something to be truly thankful for.

About this Plan
This year has again been challenging. Not only for the world but I think most people would say that they have certainly faced extra challenges this year. As we head into this holiday season, this season of celebration and remembrance of salvation, we wanted to spend time in thanksgiving. Thanksgiving for immense blessings, love, grace, mercy and the salvation we have received through our Lord Jesus Christ.
