Prayer & Perseverance

DAY 5 OF 6

Today’s passage looks at what happened after the disciples’ prayer. Honestly, I would love to have the same or a similar response to my prayers, but it’s not always quite as evident. A couple of things that stand out to me from this passage is that all of the believers were affected (not just the apostles), and they were completely unified.

That doesn’t change for us today. We who are believers are all called to be witnesses —not just those in full-time ministry. And we are all called to be unified. Our unity is important enough that even Jesus prayed for it.

In a world where we can be divided for so many different reasons, it is crucial for God’s people to be unified despite our differences. That’s what makes us stand out. When the world sees a group of people who have no reason to be united except for love for the Lord, they notice. May we continue to fight for that unity and pray that the Lord gives us grace to look past what could divide us.

What ways do you see the world or the devil or our sinful nature trying to divide the people of God? How do these passages encourage you?

About this Plan

Prayer & Perseverance

What happens when God’s people pray? How ready are you to stop what you are doing and minister to someone in need? Or to justify the way you live to others? How about when situations are difficult? How do we respond? In this study, we’ll dive into a story in Acts to see how God worked in an unexpected situation and how it applies to us today.
