Free Will
Our eternal indestructible design has a rudder. This rudder decides how we live in time and where we spend our eternity with the Father or away from the Father.
The most powerful thing our Creator adorned us with is not our intellect, our body, our creativity, it is our free will. The first words God spoke to Adam is, “You are free.” This free will to choose is our greatest gift from the Father. Our will is capable of extraordinary accomplishments, both for good and shall we say, less than good (or even evil). The human will has built skyscrapers, climbed mountains, explored the seas, created great art, produced medicine, and invented incredible technologies that most of us use daily.
Contrarily, the human will has participated in wars, bombings, murders, corruption and much more. The will can decide if we spend a lifetime in prison for a crime or a lifetime in abundance and freedom.
Our will decides if we share the gospel with each other or frivolously spend our life on vain pursuits of any kind. Our will is our eternal rudder. In time we choose how to shape our will to obey God and receive His wisdom and blessings or choose our independence away from Him.
Our will is ours alone. We cannot blame God or our parents for the choices we make or for the consequences that may occur as a result of our actions.
Our decisions, utilization of our time, resources, and relationships all reflect how we are using this great gift called our will. It’s good as eternal beings to look at how we are using our will in our relationship with the Father.
His absolute desire is an eternal relationship with us. Our will in time will decide if His dream for us eternally will come true or not. My prayer is that we evaluate how we use this gift of our will to see His dream for us in time and for eternity come true.
