This Is for Everyone

DAY 4 OF 6

THE OPPORTUNITIES

The next thing we must understand when it comes to reaching our world is something that was mentioned in day 1 of this devotional and that is the truth that God wants to use YOU.

God is sovereign. He knew what time you would be born, where you would grow up, what school you would go to, what sports you would play, what your first job would be, and the list goes on! He orders all our lives, including all our relationships, friendships, and acquaintances. God has placed us around those people for a reason – to impact and influence them for Christ.

Take a moment to reflect on this and ask yourself:

Who has God sovereignly placed in my life for me to impact and influence for Him?

If nothing comes to mind, you might need to pray a prayer like this:

God would you help me today by your Holy Spirit to see who you have sovereignly placed in my life for me to impact and influence.

There are countless opportunities around you every single day to reach people, you don’t need to go overseas to be a missionary, you just need to go across the street, or across the hall in the office!

In the book of Acts, we see an example of this, God places a desire in Philip to serve people by sharing the Gospel. God then directs Philip to be in the right place at the right time to impact and share the good news of Christ with an Ethiopian man who was searching for God.

Three things characterise Philip and allow him to capitalise on this opportunity presented before him to lead this man to Christ.

  1. Philip desired to serve people by sharing the message that meets their deepest need.
  2. Philip was obedient to the Holy Spirit’s prompting.
  3. Philip was bold to speak the truth about Christ.

We too must seek to become like this so that the opportunities in our world don’t go to waste. Every day we walk past divine appointments because we are either oblivious or distracted.

God has placed you in your workplace, family, sports team, or study group on purpose and for a purpose. That purpose is to impact and influence those people for Christ.

We must make the most of the opportunities we have!
