Again & Again
By Taylor Williams
LYRICS
Again and again I will go
To the well of Your mercy
That quenches my soul
Again and again I will go
To the brim You will fill me
‘Til I overflow
Again & Again is a prayer for God’s mercy to meet us in our brokenness. That brokenness could be sin, sickness, despair, or any other hardship. This song was actually recorded by a worship leader on our staff days before he ended up in the ICU with COVID-19. The doctors gave him a 10% chance to live. For a time, the outcome was uncertain. However, this song — this prayer for healing — quickly became a comfort for our team as we boldly prayed each day for God’s deliverance. After weeks of praying, God miraculously healed our beloved teammate.
There is no doubt that we all need the mercy of God. It’s easier to live with the fruit of the Spirit in your life when everything is going great (Galatians 5:22-23). But when life brings trials and heartache, it can be harder to cast our anxieties at the feet of Jesus. There is a book of the Bible called Lamentations solely devoted to the act of lamenting. In chapter 3, the author goes on for 21 verses about the afflictions he faces and the hardships of life. After recognizing these hardships, the author comes to this conclusion: “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him’” (Lamentations 3.22-24, ESV).
It is our prayer that as you listen to songs from this new album, you would be reminded of the mercy of God in your own life. We hope you will experience it in a fresh way and remember that in the midst of brokenness, the grace and mercy of God are closer than you could ever imagine.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, remind me in the hardships of life that I can go to You for grace. Help me to see Your hand at work, even in the uncertainty. Increase my faith so I can give that same mercy to others. Thank You for the gift of who You are. In Jesus’ name, amen.
About this Plan
Over the last year, the world has gone through a lot, but there is a God who reminds us that He is still Alive & Well. And we were created to be Alive & Well with Him.
