Walking With Jesus (Salvation) Намуна
ENDING IT WELL
“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
2 Tim. 4:6-7
The Bible tells us that Saul, who was previously known as Paul, was originally a persecutor of believers (Phil. 3:6). With persistence, he put a lot of pressure and great trouble on the early churches. However, an encounter with Lord Jesus miraculously changed him. Saul was changed drastically from a bloodthirsty persecutor to a loyal servant of God who poured out his blood until the end of his life.
All of us have a past. The past can be beautiful, mediocre, or even dark. Whatever our past condition, it does not affect our decision to follow Jesus right now. Our life journey is changed when we believe and accept Christ as our Lord. Our personality is renewed day-by-day through our various spiritual experiences. We can live a better life and become better people with the help of the Holy Spirit that is given to us as a Helper.
You may have a bad or even dark past. In the past, you may have enjoyed living in dark sin. We may have cheated, been addicted to drugs, lived in the night world, and so on. You may have been a victim of domestic violence, rejection, divorce, and so on. This experience is not a significant barrier to. God has saved you from destruction, and He still longs to use you for His work. God still expects you to grow in your faith and knowledge of Him. He still wants you to bear fruit for Him.
You won't be able to change the beginning of your life. That is the past. Whatever it is, the most important thing is how we live this life better because of our faith in Christ. The most important thing is how we can end our battle of faith in an appropriate way for believers.
Reflection
1. What does your past look like? Is it beautiful? Bad? Difficult? Dark? Is it getting in your way now?
2. How will you live your life to reach the finishing line?
Application:
Make the past a lesson to be a better person in the present and the future.
