Unleash the Good Life at WorkНамуна
Unleashing Peace and Patience
God loves us so much that He wants to walk alongside us through all of life. His Holy Spirit is ready to guide, direct and teach us each step of the way. God knows the plans He has for us, and they are often beyond what we can imagine.
That’s not to say we can’t make plans. Prayerfully setting goals and planning how we will get there is good. But getting attached to our plans and how we expect them to unfold can cause anxiety and stress that distracts us from the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Walking out our God-given purpose is a dance and we need to let God lead so we know when to adjust course. This is only possible when we develop a deep trust in God.
How do you develop and unleash peace in the unknown and patience in the waiting?
- Trust God. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us to trust God with all of our hearts. Let go of your own interpretation of the situation and seek perspective from the Holy Spirit. As you seek His will in everything, He will lead you down the path of greatest success.
- Ask God to meet your needs. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us not to have anxiety about anything. Worry and anxiety are signs that you are trying to take the place of God in your life. Instead, tell God what you need and release it so you are free to experience peace.
- Give thanks. Even when plans aren’t unfolding as you think they should, there are things to be thankful for. Expressing thanks opens the door to experience God’s presence so you can be filled with joy.
We can’t even imagine what God has in store for us. And we may never know if we allow the need for control to obstruct our view. Releasing our plans and allowing God to guide us through the power of His Holy Spirit will lead to an abundant life that exceeds our expectations.
Prayer
Father God, help me to remember that you are God and I am not. My times are in your hands. Help me to let go and trust in your plans for my life and let you lead. I release my expectations and any need for control so that the Holy Spirit can work in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
