DAY 5 OF 7

Having faith means that we believe what God says even before it happens. If we only believed things that God said after we already saw them happen, it really wouldn’t take that much faith or trust at all because we would already have proof. The point of faith is that we have to trust, believing that God already knows what will happen and has our best interests in mind. Sometimes it can be tempting to lose hope and to not trust in Jesus when we are constantly surrounded by hate and bad things in the world. After a while, we start to feel worn down and tired.

Paul, one of the first pastors, knew how hard it could be to keep trusting God when there is so much brokenness in the world. He encourages us by reminding us that we “live by faith, not by sight while we are on the earth.” Our hope is in Jesus, and while we are on the earth, we have to remind ourselves of the faith we have for the future because of our relationship with Him.

Challenge: Today, reflect on living by faith, not by sight. What does it mean to trust in God even though we can’t see Him? Take a moment to draw, journal, or write to God about verse 7, which says, “we live by faith, not by sight.”

About this Plan

By Faith

Faith is putting your trust in something, even if you don't see it or have visible proof. Faith in God can be challenging, especially since we usually don’t hear God audibly speaking to us or see Him right in front of us. But faith is the foundation of a relationship with Jesus. Join us for the next seven days as we look at what it means to live by faith.
