The word “believe” appears almost 100 times in John. Jesus feeding 5,000 people with a packed lunch causes people to want to make Him king. That’s not belief, that’s people wanting a free lunch. Jesus tells them they need to do the work of God by believing in Him.

Believing in Jesus is all that is required to meet God’s standard. Belief is more than just thinking something is true, it’s relying on Jesus alone as the way to eternal life.
