Draw NearНамуна
This refrain is repeated twice in Psalm 42, and then ends Psalm 43 (possibly because it is one cohesive piece). There is, of course, truth in what the psalmist is claiming here—our hope is in God, so why be dejected? But the refrain being repeated points to another truth: it is hard to internalize this truth when going through times of turmoil. And that’s okay.
Reflect on the continuous need in your life to put your hope in God and to continue praising him, and then pray a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord that you are allowed to have these honest and real emotions about him and to him, while acknowledging how this process brings you closer and closer to him.

About this Plan
Through a 5-day journey to draw nearer to God’s heart, the CSB invites you to reflect on the thoughts and emotions that keep you from drawing near to God’s heart, looking at the psalmist’s struggle with the same barriers. And ultimately, we hope you can rely on the promise that when you draw near to God, he draws near to you.
