Fatherhood (Part 2)Намуна
The father who also stood up at the time of sentencing
Dr. P. W Philpott tells the story of a father he once knew. A successful Christian businessman from Scotland has a son: a great young man, well-educated and respected, who was arrested for embezzlement.
In court, the young man seemed so indifferent and calm when found guilty. This lasted until he was asked to stand and listen to the judge's decision.
He then looked at the lawyers' table and that's when he saw that his father was also standing. The head and shoulders of the upright man, who had been standing erect, now bowed deeply with sorrow and shame as he stood up to receive the punishment for his son as if the punishment was for himself.
The son looked at his father and then wept bitterly.

Children need role models more than they need criticism.

Proverbs 3:1
“My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands.”
Reflection:
Whether we realize it or not, parents have the responsibility to educate their children in the truth and the fear of God. Parents cannot leave the teaching of their children to someone else, be it pastors or teachers. Let us ask for wisdom from the Holy Spirit so that we can guide our children in the ways of the Lord.

About this Plan
In the Bible, God assigns fathers to guide their children to fear the Lord and become useful. This task is not an easy task for the fathers. This reflection will help fathers to always remember the holy call from the Lord for their children.
