LIVE IN LOVE
And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen, and seven times shall pass over you until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses. (Daniel 4:32)
The Bible explains that one of the characteristics of love is not proud, but being humble. Daniel had to tell King Nebuchadnezzar that God was against the pride of the kings of this world. There is a fundamental sin that is firmly attached to the human heart, namely pride. Most humans do not like seeing other people above themselves, for they tend to exalt themselves.
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon greatly exalted himself and his strength for he was blinded by the sin of pride. He had even positioned himself as god and refused to acknowledge God as the only living and true God. On the other hand, Daniel humbled himself before the Lord. He prayed and worshiped God in a hidden place in his room. The Lord was pleased by Daniel because Daniel's heart was only focused on God. Daniel had made the right decision by seeking and trusting the Lord even though he had to undergo punishment for defending his faith in God.
As believers, we can share with other people how God works in our lives. God answers prayers and fulfills His word in our lives. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches, apart from Jesus we cannot do anything. Therefore, we need to be regularly connected to the vine so that our lives can bear fruit. If we put our hope in the Lord and depend on Him, then God will make all of our works successful.
Pride is the beginning of ruin because the Lord opposes those who are proud but loves those who are humble. If God has lifted us, then remember that it is achieved not because of our great, strength, nor merits. It happens because of the work of God. May the Lord become the only One who is exalted and glorified. Continue to study and listen to the advice of God's word from the righteous, because humility can only happen when we want to learn and obey.
Humble ourselves before the Lord and receive the grace of Father in heaven.
