A Week Of WorshipНамуна
Is my worship honest?
There are a lot of things you can do to show you’re worshiping God. You can sing, thank God, shout for God, pray, read the Bible, serve other people, cry happy tears, and lift your hands up. And that’s only the beginning!
When you do those things, ask yourself why you’re doing them. Are you doing them because you really, really love and respect God? If you are, then you’re worshiping God honestly, from your heart.
But what if you’re doing them to make other people think you really love God, and you’re not even thinking about God at all? That’s not honest, and it’s not from your heart.
If it turns out you haven’t been worshiping God from your heart, don’t give up. Pray and ask God to help you focus on Him. Start thinking about God while you worship instead of thinking about anything else. Close your eyes if you have to. God will help you to worship Him honestly, with your whole heart, for who He truly is.
Watch the video to help you memorize John 4:23. It’s a great Bible verse to remind you to worship God in spirit and in truth!
Talk It Over: Why do you think people will do things that look like worship, even when they aren’t really thinking about God? What can you do to keep your heart and mind on God when you worship Him?
