LAVISH
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
- 1 John 3:1 NIV
Whether you know it or fully understand it, the truth is that God – the Creator of the universe – unconditionally loves you and me. Every day he chooses to lavish his extravagant love upon us. Daily, He desires that our heart be opened to comprehend the enormity and vastness of his love towards us. That we would know the breadth and length, the height and depth, and the great magnitude of his amazing love towards us is the bedrock of our faith. To experience the love of a perfect Father who promises, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
- Hebrews 13:5 AMP
These words are not empty promises. They are the truth. They’re an expression of a Heavenly Father who loves and wants the best for His children. His love is at the core of His heart towards us; He longs that we may know and experience it in our lives.
Today, pray this simple prayer with me:
Father,
I thank you that, daily, you lavish your love upon me and love me unconditionally. I am eternally grateful. Thank you for the truth of your word that you will never leave me or desert me. You promise that you will never let me down or relax your hold on me. May I rest in the knowledge that you are the perfect Father who has my best interests at heart. Help me to know and understand the great magnitude of your love. Thank you that I can rest assured that you are my Father and my future is safe in your hands.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
