Walk Through The Bible 365 - MayНамуна
Running
What could bring a spectacular king like David to such the pathetic situation we find him in this passage - running desperately, barefoot, from one of his sons, Absalom and a rag-tag group of rebels? It turns out to be a lethal combination of sin, self-pity, doubt, fear, laziness, and lack of faith that got him there. And he almost lost his kingdom. There's a lesson here for us too.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to be standing in faith, not running. I want to know and express love, not fear; passion, not passivity. Give me strength today to stand up for righteousness, not shrink from evil. Satan's a defeated foe. Help me to live like it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
