DAY 41 OF 63

Goodness that Follows

Psalms 23:6 is a beautiful depiction of God's character and the type of unwavering love he has for us. His goodness and love is not dependent on how much of a nice person we are that day, or what kind of difficult path we may be facing, but it is a promise that wherever our day is looking like goodness and love WILL follow. It is in pursuing God daily that we are reminded God is the one who is doing this journey called life with us; with each day he wants to offer new goodness and new love.

So if there are difficult days, or some days that feel like a dark tunnel that is never-ending always remember that God’s goodness and his love is what is covering you, even on your darkest days.

Just as God showers us with goodness and love, take time out of your day for someone who you think may require a kind act or simply a gesture of Godly love in their day.  As we are disciples of God it’s important that we reflect Christ, for a tree is known by the fruit it bears. Likewise, as God is love to us, chose to show love to someone today, just as God provides us with goodness, be good and generous in your actions.

Take time to reflect. Take time to think about where you are today, and what God has done for you. Take a moment to thank God for his steadfast goodness and love all those years and remember that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So if there is a day you are struggling, come back to remembering his goodness and know that’s the kind of God we serve.

Prayer

Father God, as we spend time in your presence, remind of your love and goodness and teach us to be people who also show your love and goodness to others, Amen.

About this Plan

Fruit Bowl

Fruit Bowl is a 9-week deep dive into the Fruit of the Spirit put together by the Naujavan community. Jesus said, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit is the result of spending quality time with God, allowing Him to shape and form us.” We hope this devotional encourages you to do just that.
