Jesus said, “The world hates me because I testify that what it does is evil. If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. They will treat you this way because of me, for they do not know the One who sent me.”
So it is certainly true that all through the centuries since Jesus left, Christians have been persecuted in many places. This is the mark of true Christianity. The Bible tells Christians to endure patiently, and wait for the Kingdom of Heaven. Again, Jesus is our example.
