Discernment to Defeat Your EnemyНамуна
The Difference of God’s Presence
The more you delve into getting to know God, the greater your perspective on yourself, on Him, on life, and on others becomes. God, the creator of everything, the one who holds galaxies in His hands, knows you by name and handpicked you to be His. He wants to have a one-on-one relationship with you. Many people understand this truth only with a head knowledge, but it can go further than that. He grants us the ability to know Him experientially. I truly believe time in the presence of God is the answer to everything in life.
How do Christians differ from others? It is His presence that makes the difference. The sound of our prayers, conversations with God, and our worship of Him grant us access to the divine spiritual realm that was already given to us when Jesus reconciled us to God. As a worship leader, I understand the implications of lifting up a sound of sincere praise to God. I have seen the power of worship shift the atmosphere. I have seen the presence of God come in like a flood and break through the natural threshold into the spiritual realm, thus inviting heaven to come down.
God is the all-conquering Savior and the commander of the invisible armies. We, as God’s children, need not be afraid or affected by the enemy, because He who is in us is greater.
The presence of God is what makes us whole, healthy, and strong. Jesus tells us what filling ourselves with Him looks like. When we are connected with God, we have access to all that He promises us. The more we get to know Him the more we learn what He knows.
It is important for us to stay connected to the source of life. We need to stay hidden in His presence so that we can approach the giants of life with the same godly courage that David did in his battle. The giants of depression, suicidal thoughts, addiction, financial crisis, or any other attack on our families cannot stand against our God.
Along with practicing spiritual disciplines, God wants us to invite Him into the time we dedicate to Him. In that time of sitting with God, He deposits things into our spirits that can change our lives and the lives of everyone around us.
