There Is Hope: A Road to Healing

DAY 2 OF 7

The Lord Will Empower You with Inner Strength

Hello beautiful girl. Welcome back. I want you to know you are so brave for meeting me back here. Each small step you take matters. You are worthy of hope and healing.

If you are here, it means you felt the tiniest glimmer of hope. Maybe you wanted to see what other truths are tucked in God’s Word for you? Maybe you didn’t feel hope, but you felt this tug in your heart to try again? Whatever the reason, I am so thankful you are here. God wants to meet with you. He wants to take away those burdens you have been carrying around. He tells us in Matthew chapter 11 verse 28 (NLT):

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Today, I want to talk about the road to recovery and healing, and some of the heavy burdens we believe we have to carry on our journey. Let me start by saying this road is hard and this road takes time.

Now, I could insert some quote here about how you are stronger than your storm or talk about what a self-sufficient, powerful woman you are, or how “she needed a hero, so she became one”, but I want to be real with you. Quotes like these might inspire you, but the goal of this plan is to help heal you. Those quotes you can read on social media might make you feel good for a moment or even a day, but they are also HARD to live out when we are healing and recovering.

It is weighty trying to be that strong, self-sufficient, powerful, super woman. Trying to be that is exhausting! And when we fall short, and we will, it makes us feel like we failed in some way. I need you to know right now, it is okay for you to be a puddle of mess. It is okay to feel weak. It is okay for you to hide in your bathroom, shower, or closet to cry. It is okay to double check all your doors and windows to make sure they are locked because you have a real reason to be afraid. Your feelings are valid and you DO NOT have to have it all together!

Please hear me sister, it will not always be this way, but the days that it is, give yourself grace.

Again, if I could grab your sweet hands and look at your sweet face, I would tell you: Jesus doesn’t need our strength, sufficiency, or power. In fact, His Word tells us He will give it to us! He will provide it for us! That is good news, right?

God’s Word tells us that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in our weakness. It tells us that He will empower us with inner strength through His Spirit. It tells us that our sufficiency comes from Him, not from us. THIS IS GOOD NEWS! I don’t have to work to become a self-sufficient, powerful, super women because Christ in me, makes me these things! Can I get an AMEN?

Again, I am going to ask if you would highlight these verses, write them down, put them up in your home or your car, speak them out loud over your heart and mind. Meditate on these words of truth. Talk with God about these verses. Tell Him how you feel about them. Pause and listen for His still, small voice.

About this Plan

There Is Hope: A Road to Healing

Statistics show that about 1 in 2 women have endured an attempted or completed sexual assault and 1 in 3 are impacted by domestic violence. This shows that we have many women who need hope and healing! I’m not an expert, just someone within those statistics who loves Jesus and wants to help others.
