Life IS... Filled with Changes
Sometimes life will force us to change! If you're like me, change is never easy because we typically do not like letting go of people, places, and things that are familiar and comfortable to us. We also do not like starting over, especially if we have been doing something for a long period of time. Nevertheless, life does not happen without some sort of change. Some changes may cause us to move at a slower pace or become stagnant, while others may totally stop us in our tracks.
For many of us, January 1, 2020, filled us with excitement and anticipation for a new year. We made plans about the things we were going to do and the places we were going to go. Little did most of us know, just a few months later, something called COVID-19 would hit and literally paralyze the majority of the world.
All of a sudden we were thrust into having to face major changes in our lives -whether we wanted to or not. Not only did our public lifestyle change, but for many of us, our private lives changed as well. As a result, we saw an instant rise in unemployment, depression, stress, domestic violence, and suicide, to name a few.
Just like that, something that is INVISIBLE brought a VISIBLE world to a halt. COVID-19 forced us to look at life differently. Some of us may have to reimagine our life and get creative during this season of change.
I don't know what possible changes you are faced with today, but God has equipped you. Grab hold of the CHANGE and trust Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) says "trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
Invite God into the "changes" in your life and ask for His wisdom. Give Him permission to guide and transform you - changing the areas of your life that look more like the world than Him. When you surrender yourself to Him, He will give you a divine perspective that will carry you through whatever change comes your way.
Reflection:
What changes have you had to make professionally or privately?
How are you handling these changes?
What is God saying to you as a result?
Prayer:
Father, help me to understand that although I may be in a difficult and challenging place, it is not the end. Amen.
