Hunger: In Pursuit of AbbaНамуна
Make Room
“May Christ through your faith (actually) dwell (Settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love." Ephesians 3:17 AMPC
I really like this song by Jonathan McReynolds, “Make Room” mostly because of the lyrics:
“I find space for what I treasure, I make time for what I want.
I choose my priorities and Jesus you’re my number one.”
As the lyrics of the song rightly suggest, you make time for what is important to you and you prioritise what you want.
Have you ever wondered why it’s so easy to spend unending hours on the phone talking to someone you love or your significant other and yet you struggle to keep up a conversation for a minute with someone else? The answer to this is an obvious one, there is a premium placed on the one you love which makes it easy to carry on a conversation. without running out of talking points that would spur smiles and intermittent laughter.
To make room is to be deliberate! It’s to be in love and to be moved by love. What I have come to realise in my walk with God is how easy falling in love with Jesus becomes when you know Him.
How do you know Him? Through reading the Bible, worship and prayer.
The more of Him you know, the more of Him you want to know.
So, today deliberately spend time getting to know Jesus.
Make pockets of time to read and study His word, to worship and to pray - make Him your number one priority!
Prayer: Abba, today I choose to prioritise my relationship with you. I choose to make room for you.
