DAY 2 OF 3

EYES OF THE HEART

Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ (Ephesians 3:8)

This was a prayer that Paul raised for the Ephesians. He prayed that the believers in Ephesus would experience growth and improvement in their journey of faith. In this prayer, Paul wanted us, as the chosen people, to find the blessings or divine riches that can be enjoyed. In his prayer, Paul asked God to open “the eye of the heart” of the church to see clearly the riches of God.

“The eye of the heart” speaks about the center and the core of life where we find feelings, thoughts, and wills. How can we keep the eye of our heart clear? Only by the Word of God, for it is the light that exposes the darkness of the heart and the life of a man. When we are filled with His word, we can see the hope of God.

How many Christians gradually retreat or even lose their hope? It can happen because their heart is no longer illuminated by the Word of God. The faith of a Christian will always be strong and can see God when the eye of his heart is guided by the light of the word. This is the key of the growth of our knowledge with Christ,”longing for His word every moment”.

If the Word of God always fills and guides the eye of our heart, then surely our faith won’t be shaken easily by anything, whether it is a struggle, trouble or even pressure.

Let us know the God who we worship deeper than before by living in His word.

To know the will of God in our lives we should read the Word of God and live in it.
