The Gospel of Mark

DAY 41 OF 42

 Reflection Questions

1. Why do you think Mark (and other Gospel accounts) include Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane? What do we learn about Jesus in this intimate moment with the Father?

2. Why do you think Jesus had compassion on the guard who lost his ear? What does this show about the character of Jesus?

3. Why did Jesus publicly proclaim He is the Messiah during His trial when, previously, He had wanted His identity to remain hidden?

4. Why is the centurion’s confession of Christ significant?

How would you have responded to the angels’ message at the tomb? Why was this such a significant moment for the women who went to anoint Jesus?

About this Plan

The Gospel of Mark

The Gospel of Mark is a powerful account of the life of Jesus. It displays the character of Jesus on every page, from His willingness to suffer and serve to His power and deity miraculously displayed. With every scene the author asks, “Where is your faith?” As we read and study the Gospel of Mark we can’t help but answer this important question.
