God Comes Through In Protecting You

DAY 5 OF 5

As God’s children we are commanded not to “merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4) No matter what is going on around us, it is our responsibility as believers to advise others according to God’s word. Often times when one commits to a God-honoring life spiritual attacks follow. You probably can recall in your Christian journey times when you advised someone to choose God’s way and were attacked. Or you have a memory when you began following God’s will and were threatened, talked about and rejected by your peers or even family members. Remember God will always come through to protect you when you are walking in his will, word and way. Similar to the situation Elisha faced with the King of Aram (Syria). In 2 Kings 6:8-23 Elisha looked out for the interest of the King of Israel when the King of Aram (Syria) was making war against Israel (starting mess, conflict, confusion). While the King of Aram consulted his servants regarding their battle plan against the King of Israel, Elisha consulted the LORD and sent word to the King of Israel of his adversary’s plot. Angry that each treacherous scheme used against the Israel king was thwarted, the King of Aram suspected a traitor in his camp, but later discovered that Elisha was the one assisting the King of Israel. Outraged, the King of Aram sent an army in the attempt to seize Elisha. It appeared that the Aramean army would attack him, even Elisha’s servant was fearful based off of what he could see, but Elisha knew that God would come through. God protected Elisha with a mountain full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding him. In life you might be faced with decisions to help others and inform others of potential dangers that await them. Also you might be faced with decisions to take a stand for Christ and live a life that honors and pleases God. Attacks will come when you follow God’s plan for your life, but don’t be afraid at what you can see, trust that God is protecting you with divine resources that you can’t see. Remember at all times God loves you and he always Comes Through in Protecting You!
