Biblical Basics for Investors

DAY 5 OF 5

Not My Efforts

I've been a Christian my entire life, but I'm not sure I believed that verse until the last several years. I thought my hard work, extra hours, and motivating people was more of my efforts. And I don't think I gave God enough credit. And I now have completely understood in the past several years in particular that without reservation, I need the Lord. I can't do this on my own. It's not from my efforts.

I don't think I'm alone here. Surrendering and being obedient to God's wishes is a lifelong journey every Christian must walk. That includes everything from small sacrificial things on a day to day to trying to memorize scripture and make sure that reading the word morning and night and praying over every decision we make.

It's a reminder that this process of reading Scripture every day isn't going to end in a week or two. This isn't the "last day" of my Bible reading. The Christian life is a lifelong journey. And every day is a new chance to completely surrender to God's will and God's glory.
