DAY 5 OF 14

Find Comfort in God

Isaiah 66:13a

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you

This Psalm is written by King David who was a very successful king and warrior. He could have boasted about all his greatness and victories, however, he didn’t.

He was so humble that he felt like a child who needed to be comforted by his mother. When a baby or small toddler feels so restless or afraid of something, what he needs is his mother’s hug. It is because he trusts that his mother is the only one who can calm him down and will not hurt him.

Just like a little child wanting to be near his mother, David wanted to rest peacefully and securely in God, come to God with open arms and let God hug and carry him. He knew God would not let him get hurt.

Let’s be like David who had a childlike trust in God. When you are having a good time, praise God, give all glory to Him, and do not boast. When you are having a bad time, have a childlike trust in God, and find God for comfort.

Prayer

Dear God, I want to have a pure trust in You like King David did because I know in You I can find my comfort and relief. Amen.
