The Time of Your Life
Psalm 90:12
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Let’s say, God gives you a lifespan of 80 years or 29,200 days. How many days will you still have left? How have you been spending your days up to today? Have you been passing your days wisely?
This Psalm reminds us that God is eternal and man is mortal. Eternal means never ending while mortal means the opposite. It reminds us also that God is sovereign in all things including time. God has power over the time that He created.
God’s time is not the same as our time on earth. 2 Peter 3:8 says, “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.“ Well, we cannot really understand God’s time system. However, one thing for sure, time keeps passing by and our time on earth is limited.
Let’s treat each day as a valuable gift from God. Let’s make the most of what little time you have. Let’s ask for wisdom from God to help you use your time in a way that pleases and honors Him.
Prayer
Dear God, give me wisdom so that I can use my days wisely. I will do things that honour Your holy name. Amen.
