The Greatest Treasure
Psalm 119:105
Your word is like a lamp for my feet and a light for my way.
At night when it is dark outside, with the light off inside your room, if you have a look out of the window, you will notice the dimly lighted sky. Now, could you turn on the light in your room and look out the window again? You will see the difference now. If your room has the light on, you will see that it is much darker outside now, right?
This is how God’s word works in our lives. When we are close to God’s word, it is like being in the bright room, where you will find how dark it is outside. It means, if we always read God’s word and keep it in our hearts, we will recognise the darkness of sins, so that we will avoid them.
On the other hand, if we don’t spend time reading the Bible, it is like being in the dark room, where you don’t really recognise the difference outside. It means, if we ignore God’s word, we will not recognise sins that creep around us, and we will easily fall into them.
If you read God’s word daily at your young age, you are doing the right thing! You are very young and still have a long way ahead of you. The Bible is the greatest treasure as it is the source of wisdom that guides you in the right way. God's word is like a light to guide you.
Prayer
