God’s Attributes: Mercy & Truth

Psalm 85:10

Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Mercy and Truth, Righteousness, and Peace are actually picturing God’s attributes and how they work together.

Mercy is pure forgiveness while Truth is the condition of being true. Let’s take Moses as an example. One of the truths about Moses is that there were times when he doubted God’s supernatural power, yet God’s mercy never even once left Moses. 

Jesus Christ, with His mercy, took the truth about Moses, about you and me to His Cross. We can stand before God with joy and confidence because of what Jesus Christ has done for us. 

Because of Jesus Christ, we can become righteous despite our true colors. When you know you have been made righteous by God’s mercy, you will experience great peace in your heart and in your daily life.

Isn’t this connection just beautiful beyond description? Indeed, the wonder of God’s work and thoughts is just beyond our imagination. Jesus Christ has made the impossible to be possible. He has made the irreconcilable to be reconciled.

Dear Jesus, I am thankful for the power of Your cross that washed away my sins so that I can be righteous in You and so that peace can overflow in my heart and life. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
