DAY 3 OF 7

Walking in Their Shoes

As Christians, our calling is to have love for one another. We are able to display love because we were first loved by Christ. When we look at Jesus’ life, He often sought out those who were hurting and in need. Jesus humbled himself to do this. We can learn from Jesus and continue His mission. We do this when we embody what Paul says in Romans: “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15). Dr. Mika Edmondson expands on how we can empathize with those who are hurting.

Watch Connect One

Loving one another through “walking in each other’s shoes” is a powerful tool to bring people together. Showing this type of love is a way that we can share Jesus with others. Just as Jesus meets us where we are, we can be with others and show that we care by listening and feeling their pain and joy. Use this principle in your everyday life to bring glory to God as you show compassionate love to others. Whether it is rejoicing with a friend who finally got their dream job or sharing a meal with someone who has lost everything, show love to someone today by listening and feeling so that you can “walk in their shoes.”

About this Plan

Listen | Connect | Help

Jesus loves everyone and did what He could for the masses. Throughout the Bible, we see how Jesus also focuses on individuals. He listened to their needs, made a connection to relevant truth, and then gave practical ways to help. This is a good application model for us to follow as we seek to make a difference in other people's lives. Listen. Connect. Help.
