Where Can I Find Truth?
Okay, yesterday, you learned that there is truth. Today, you might be wondering a bit about how to learn this truth.
You know where truth comes from? Real, lasting truth you can build your life on? It comes from God. God said He is the Father of Lights and that everything good and true comes from Him.
You know where truth doesn’t come from? Our spiritual enemy, the devil. God warned us that the devil is the father of lies.
One time, Jesus told people that if they follow Him, they will know the truth. He said if we follow the sinful things the enemy tempts us with, it’s like being a slave to that sin. Um, as you can see, it’s pretty important to learn and walk in God’s truth!
So, where can we learn about God’s truth? Maybe a Google search?
Eh … watch this video with Ali, a friend of The Loop Show to see about that.
Right, so it’s going to take some wisdom to untangle our wants, popular ideas, or feelings from God’s truth. We need to get knowledge from God through His words to us in the Bible. We need wisdom from the Holy Spirit. We can get guidance fom trusted adults who also follow Jesus and His teachings.
And remember: When truth feels tangled, grow in every way more and more like Christ.
Ask yourself: When is it hard for me to know how to make the right choice? When is it hard for me to walk in what I know is God’s truth?
Challenge yourself: Grab a paper and something to write with. Make a list of all the ways you can learn God’s truth when you’re not sure what it is. Be sure to include learning from the Bible and praying for truth to be revealed to you. Be sure to write down the names of any and every person you trust who follows Jesus and may be able to help speak wisdom and truth into your life.
Pray: God, thank You for the loving way You teach me truth. Jesus showed me that love when He died on the cross to free me from living in sin and lies. Help me to love Your truth and let it set me free for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
