DAY 3 OF 4

EXAMPLE OF LIFE

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

An apostle was a messenger chosen by God, equipped with the power of God to preach the gospel, teach the truth of God, and establish the churches of God. As believers we also need to learn and follow the example of the apostles.

First, they were faithful to their calling. In order to fulfil their responsibilities for their calling they were willing to give up their personal interests. Second, they were ready to face the challenges. Whatever the risks, the apostles were ready for the sake of the progress of God's gospel. Third, the apostles lived with discipline and obedience. Their success of evangelism was a result of their discipline, self-controll, and obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Indeed, challenges and obstacles will confront believers, but that is a way to train us to remain faithful in all circumstances. These challenges are God’s way to train and discipline us and appeal to us to obey His voice. The journey of the apostle Paul motivates us to continue running in the race of faith until the finish.

Challenge is good for us because when we can pass it with God, then one day, we will be a teacher to share and strengthen others who are weak. Our experience with God through our problems is a tremendous blessing.

Challenges and obstacles will confront believers, but that is a way to train us to remain faithful in all circumstances.
