Purposely Purposeful Намуна
What on earth are you here for?
What on earth am I here for? What is the meaning of life? Why do I feel frustrated and empty? Answers to these questions point to an important word - purpose.
A simple definition of purpose is found in Ephesians 2:10: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Let’s delve into this verse so we can gain a fuller understanding of its impact on our lives.
God’s workmanship:- The word “workmanship” encompasses beauty, precision, care, and the design of an expert craftsman. Other translations use the word “masterpiece” instead of “workmanship.” When you look in the mirror, disregard the labels people have slapped on you. Instead, align yourself with your true identity of being God’s workmanship or masterpiece.
Good works:- The main reason that God created you in Christ Jesus as a masterpiece is not so much to feel good about yourself but to engage with specific good works. God has created and designed us with precision for these good works – and with His help, we can engage and accomplish them.
Prepared beforehand:- The good works aren’t an afterthought or an addendum to our lives. They don’t get thrown into the mix now and then. The Word says that God has prepared specific good works “beforehand” – He has the blueprint of those works.
How does this verse impact your purpose? Are you ready to walk in the good works that God has prepared for you?
