Joseph's Life StoryНамуна
We don’t always understand what God is doing, but He has a perfect plan
The Bible offers us several examples of people who were chosen by God to play an important role in His salvation plan. Joseph is one of them, although he didn’t know that himself at the time. Only afterwards he concludes that God meant all his hardships for good, to save his whole family from a famine.
Some other examples are: Moses, who was appointed by God to lead the Israelites out of slavery, through the desert and into the promised land of Canaan; Jeremiah, who was called as a prophet to announce God’s coming judgment and His mercy; and the apostle Paul, whom God chose as an “instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel” (Acts 9:15).
All of these examples show that God sometimes uses people to save others and to bring about “good”, even if their tasks are difficult and their lives hard. Some Christians experience a clear calling to work in God’s Kingdom (like Moses), and know that this will involve sacrifices. Others have no idea what God is doing through their lives (like Joseph). Let these examples encourage you to trust God in what He is doing. Even if you don’t see it right now, the Lord is guiding your life and has a plan for you personally — which will bring about “good” for others and contribute to God’s glory.
Do you see God at work in your life, or in the lives of people around you?
About this Plan
“God loves you, and He has a plan for your life.” This is a popular statement among Christians, and it is true. But God’s ways are not always easy! They may include suffering to transform us; we may go through deep valleys before reaching the heights of God’s promises. Joseph’s life story, as recorded in the book of Genesis, is a good example of this.
