DAY 3 OF 5

Lord Send Revival

Psalm 113:4-6 – “The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?”

“Lord send revival
Lord send it now
A move of Your Spirit
Heaven break out
Come now in power
Cover this land
Like You've done it before
Would You do it again.” – Lord Send Revival, Young & Free.

Revival doesn’t happen without the Holy Spirit. We can’t make it happen on our own. We are reliant on God to stoop down and send His Spirit to spark revival and bring heaven to earth. The bold declaration in this song is a prayer to God, asking Him to send a move of the Spirit to cover the land (earth) like He has done in the past. It’s a bold and powerful request.

As Christians, we long to see revival. In other words, we long to see God’s Spirit empower and impact many people all at once on earth. During revival it is common to see God’s Spirit move and many people give their lives to Christ. People are healed, and many are filled with His Spirit in various ways.

Psalm 113: 5-6 asks the question ‘WHO’? Who is like our God? Who is as great as the One who is enthroned on high and stoops down to look on the heaven and earth? It is a rhetorical question and everyone who reads it knows the answer. Nobody is as great as our God! Our God controls the heavens and the earth and it is our job to worship and pray that He would send His Spirit in a powerful way for the good of humanity. There is no better time to pray for revival in history than now.

Self-reflection:

1. Do I pray consistently throughout your day asking God to intervene in different moments?

2. Do I keep track of your prayers so that I know when God has answered them?

3. Have I tried praying the prayers that I find in the Bible? Hint: some examples can be found in the Psalms.
